Spacious private room with private full bath in a beautiful, creative home surrounded by woods and gardens in Riceville Forest. Available furnished or unfurnished. The furnished room photo is a staging of the furnishings but the larger unfurnished room photo is your room.
The bedroom has two large windows overlooking the woods, two closets, and a full private bathroom with tub/shower just outside the room. Furnished, it includes a queen bed, side table, dresser and chair.
The shared kitchen, dining and living areas have lots of natural light and a warm, cabin-in-the-woods feel. Outdoors there are porches/decks, pollinator and edible gardens, wooded grounds and a fire circle. We're minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and Mountains-to-Sea Trail access and a short drive to downtown Asheville.
An important thing to know about the house: I'm a vocal coach and singer-songwriter, and this is also home to my vocal coaching studio. Two vocal coaches teach here, using the living room as flex space and one bedroom as teaching spaces and occasional band practice in the garage space. Students of all ages come and go Monday–Thursday, approximately 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Because of that, this probably isn't the best fit for someone who works from home and needs consistent daytime quiet. Someone who works regular daytime hours outside the home would likely be an especially good fit. If you enjoy music and a creative environment, you may love it here.
There's also a separate downstairs apartment occupied by another housemate, who is the second vocal coach. She has her own living space but shares the outdoor areas.
I'm looking for a responsible, considerate, communicative and reasonably tidy housemate. There's one cat in the household, and occasionally a small dog visitor.
Special Note: This is not an alcohol-centered home, so I'm looking for someone comfortable with alcohol not being a regular part of home life.
$1,200/month including utilities. $500 deposit. Available Nov. 1. Month-to-month for the first 6 months, with the possibility of a longer-term arrangement after that.
